My love for photography began when I was 12 when my mom was in school for photography and graphic design. I would find myself taking her camera around the house, capturing anything that stuck out to me. When I put myself behind the lens, I get to create the story. As an artist, it is my goal to find beauty and inspiration in the everyday moments of life. In this series of photographs, I have explored the contrast between the mundane tasks of everyday life and the transformative power of dressing up in extravagant attire. Through my lens, I have captured their typical daily activities, embellished in extravagant dresses. Editorial photography played a key role in the style of how I wanted to capture them. From shopping at the grocery store to working out at the gym, each image the series portrays these women transforming the mundane into works of art. My intention is to challenge that dressing up is specifically reserved for formal events or special occasions. Instead how this kind of fashion can make us feel powerful, and question why can’t we dress up to do the routine tasks of everyday life.
